Just figured being that this is moving along, we shoould look at the talents of our little group here. so what can you do to help progess of this set?
Some examples (but not all feel free to add):
-photoshopers/artist (very important) -Designer (designs the ship/card punchouts, takes alot of skill) -Abilities (invent/ assign abilities) -Historian (always good to have) -writers (flavor text) - Management/distribution (most likely lord D but someone will have to distribute the sets, and possibally sort)
So for me, i can design, photoshop, and am a good historian as i am an 18th century re-enactor. If need be i can do just about anything.

@ Orginal Poster: Your what some would call "cpt_jr" I presume? Now, I had a sheet with positions somewhere... Oh well. I think, if this is historical and all, that fluff text and Historians would have a combined role... They'd look up interesting ships, give the story to the designer, than the designer makes the stats for it. Anyway, I see myself as manager... But, the distrubuter has to be close to the printing shop ( to save on shipping, conveince ), and the ones we currently contacted are in California and New York, and I'm in Minnesota and The Scarlet Pimpernel is in Wiscounsin. We shall have to find someone trustworthy with money and shipping, and still be near the printing shops to ship them out. If styrene works out, of course. There is also need for Editors, and someone to help find people for the team/spread the word with me.

I am on faculty of history, so I might help here, I also think I might help with the flavor texts (it's the best part of every card, isn't it?).

Since the historian position has been taken, I will take statistics since the historian and the statistic editor correspond together. One tells history and the other bases the stats on the histoy.

@ Orginal Poster: Your what some would call "cpt_jr" I presume? what would you mean by that? (that you have cracked my enigmatic charachter i suppose he he.) also i would think that there can be multiple people on a certain job, like we could use at least 2-5 photoshop people. although if is is okay with Lord_Denton i will fill the spot of designer. also whhat would be nice is if we had a programer (save alot of time).

Wait, who said anything about positions? When the printing is secure, then postitions shall be choosen. Until them, I don't want to dash any hopes if we can't secure production of styrene. This is a talents thread. There'll be a recruiting thread when the time comes. There will multiple designers so the all-important (as Sariouriel pointed out) point of view is spread out. 2 or 3, proabably. Artists... Yeah, 3-5 will be needed to have good quality work.

I mentioned earlier that I'm a Creative Writing Major in college. I may not be a professional, but I am fairly well thought of as an editor and a writer by everyone in my classes.
Whether we follow the way WizKids worded everything or not, I could certainly look over anything other people write, and I could spin some yarns for flavor text.
Other than that, I'm not overqualified for this project. I'm not better at ability creation than any other fan, I got a B in History, and I'm likely well under-qualified for everything else.

Well I'm a Pirates player.........
If.....and its quite a bit if, you get to the printing stage. And you need someone to start test running the first prototype sets. I would be happy to pay for the printing and other costs and test run the sets.
Though it might help to have someone share the "starting costs" if you like.

@chasseur: No problem. cleverpun: Glad to have you. We will need a editor to put in ideas, common sense, etc. into the designers work, and you would have the final say (unless I/someone sees some complete BS logic going on...) on the stats of the pieces. buckland: You mean, playtesting? We certainitly need that... Heres an idea. As the stats are finalised, you can use regular ships with their stats in battle, and see what happens. Then, you only need to pay for a prototype of each ship type (1 master, 2 master, 5 master etc. ), to make sure they fit together and all. That is, if styrene works out.

I would love to help with design.
I have designed 2 sets of my own, and 1 mini set. (can provide examples, or can email the entire thing)
I've designed tons of abilities and keywords. In fact, Captain Mysion's ability in FS was an ability that I suggested to Woelf, who in turn suggested it to the lead designer of Pirates at the time. (Not Kelly)
If anyone in charge would like to see anything, just shoot me a pm. I'm also a writer, good enough to do flavor text that is.

Old man dropped a link for this project over at my usual haunt. This is exciting news. I have been involved with all phases of officially sanctioned fan produced sets with my only other true ccg love RAGE.

Welcome omegatraf and Vlad!
@omega: What was the outcome of the set? How much did it cost?
@vlad: I remember one of your sets from Pojo. It was quite good. I'm not doing any choosing of postions till we know we can get this printed (and on what). I don't want to step on any toes or run over any dreams.
