The 50-60 range is probably the one most people are willing to pay. And after voting I can see I'm right.
As long as we keep cards economic, it shouldn't be too big a problem. But do we make all crew cards two to a card? We still need space for text, and WizKids only ever put one crew on a card for the specialty crew (and generics+treasure) so I think that'd save teh most space without being too hard to set up.
If we do need new generics (for a new nation or what have you), you could easily fit 10 to a card without treasure, so that shouldn't be a big problem. You could put UTs and equipment on a similar set up as the 2-crew cards: they each take up half.

Tally ho! How is everyone! I see that some people have been busy. Couldn't resist to get in on the action.
I would be happy pay $80+ for this set. Something unique, it's still only be 40-50 quid for a set like this. Would for me be worth it for me. However, it seems that $60 is the "sweatpot".

Well, it's not the generics that worry me. If we're using the same dimensions as WizKids, each crew piece is about the size of a treasure coin, and you could get 12 of those on a card, if you wanted.
The unique crew require some thought, though, considering that if we follow WiZKids format for those we might end up wasting a fair bit of space (I don't think we can afford to give a crew it's own card, such as the cards for Commodore Stern, Luis Zuan, and a host of others in the wizkids sets.)

Okay, great! That would require a bit of handy lasering. We'll see what the printing costs are. It would be a luxury item to have a crew on its own card, anyway. Just means there is bigger artwork ( and if this is a Historical set, we'd likely just use historical artwork anyway). Sweat pot? Lol I get what you're saying.

Ahoy! $60 for me...if its 52-card set it sounds most reasonable based on booster pack and value pack prices. Normally it averages out to about .75 cents, but I figured since this is no an official thing that I'd pay a bit more than normal...
...not sure if it matters at all, but we are assuming the game timeline has shifted back in time again to before the Cursed were prowling the seas. so, I'd say to keep the time period before the American Revolution...since RotF seems to indicate that there were Cursed around that time.
If we have a new faction and don't print generic crew, that would be a major hindrance to them...so, I'd suggest print only generics for the new nation OR don't make a new nation OR give all ships of the new nation a new keyword that allows generic crew of any nationality to use their abilities on the ship (this keyword could also be given to other ships if deemed necessary or story relevant).

I seem sort of attached to the new nation idea, and players would generaly agree, I suppose.
If we have further constrict space, and cut the new nation, ( although that would just make more room for other nations to have more cards ) we shall have to do it. Of course, this historical set is going to make the goings for the Cursed even harder, they will be further behind.
So, if this ever gets printed, I think we should return to the Wizkids storyline, if at all possible, with another set. Although by then, if NECA pays any attention to Pirates, I think official sets would be on the way out.

I don't understand what you are suggesting. Do you mean destroy the plan for a historical set in favor of just improving the old ones? Or do you mean you are balancing out the pro's and con's of a historical set?

Why not just give a couple of crew the Black Mark keyword?

Or do you mean you are balancing out the pro's and con's of a historical set? If your post is directed at me, I think my latest post might have been meant to be put in the New Nations thread.* I'm saying that after this Historical set, we had better return to fleshing out the Wizkids storyline. Otherwise, the Cursed, who are already taking on water, will be swamped by the pieces in the Historical set. As it stands, the Cursed can't be in a Historical set. *Man, I'm slipping up today! I started off by destroying one of cleverpun's posts, and now I'm posting in the wrong thread(maybe!).

Hmm... this is interesting. While $60 is still the so-called "sweet spot", there are a number of votes now for only $30, which I somehow doudt we could get it down to...
EVERYONE on this forum needs to vote on this poll, its that important. Its like voting for a Senator and not voting for the President.
